AUSTIN WOMEN: “NELDA’S THE ONE — AND IT’S NOT EVEN CLOSE!”

The Austin Women’s Political Caucus last night gave Nelda Wells Spears more votes than any other candidate in their endorsement meeting. The margin of victory over her opponent wasn’t even close.

Nelda has built the most successful county tax office in Texas, and these community leaders overwhelming back her re-election bid and reject her opponent’s personal smears and politics of personal destruction.

This is the kind of support that earned Nelda more votes than any candidate on the ballot when she last ran, in 2004. She’s on her way to setting an even more impressive record this year!

BLACK DEMOCRATS: “NELDA HAS OUR UNANIMOUS SUPPORT!”
The Black Austin Democrats last night also voted to endorse Nelda — unanimously. There’s no logical reason for voters to turn against a community leader who has achieved the best tax collection rate in Texas, they said.

With the backing of such leaders as County Judge Sam Biscoe, Sheriff Greg Hamilton, and Austin icon Wilhelmina Delco, Nelda is well on her way toward another historic victory on March 4!

Tired of relentless personal attacks and negative campaigns? You can help re-elect the most successful county tax collector in Texas and send a message at the same time: We don’t need Washington, D.C.-style political smears here in Travis County.

“Voters know my record, and they are doing the right thing by rejecting my opponent’s negative attacks,” Nelda says. “I appreciate their support for my ongoing efforts to treat taxpayers fairly, protect their personal information on the voter rolls, and fight against outside efforts to privatize public services.”

Early Voting starts on February 19. You can help guarantee that Nelda has the resources to counter her opponent’s campaign of misinformation and negative attacks by clicking here: www.neldaspears.com/contribute.
